Removal of Old Roof
The first step in insuring a high quality roof is that the surface is clean and in good condition. The old roof is removed so that all areas can be inspected and to create a smooth area for the application of new shingles.
Inspection
After the removal of the old roof, a detail inspection is done to insure that the roof decking is in good condition. We inspect for rotten wood or any water damaged areas. We also inspect any metal flashing to insure that no leaks will occur after the completion of the job.
Application of New Roof
The new roof will be applied after the detailed inspection of the decking. I will apply a new layer of tarpaper to the entire roof as per Georgia code. Once completed, the application of new shingles will begin. During this process, all valleys will be flashed with metal to give extra protection in these vital areas. Also, any flashing that needs replacing will be done at this time. All pipe covers will be replaced and the pipes will be painted to match the roof color.
Clean Up
The roofing material and a dumpster will be delivered 24 hours prior to the start of the project. The dumpster will be placed in the driveway as close to the house as possible. Upon completion of the roof, all trash will be remove from the yard and placed in the dumpster. We will use a magnet to sweep the yard for nails and all metal objects. The following day the dumpster will be removed and taken to the dump.
Materials
We only use high quality GAF products on all roofs. GAF produces the number one shingle on the market. In 70 years of business, this product has never failed on any home we have roofed. Shingles come in two main styles, 3-tab and architectural.
Warranty
IHC gives a 5-year workmanship guarantee on all roofs. This warranty is for the home and may be transferred upon sale of the home. GAF gives a 25-year guarantee on all 3-tab shingles and a 30-year guarantee on its architectural shingles, the highest in the industry. Peace of Mind
Insurance
IHC carries $1,000,000 in liability insurance and $100,000 in workman's compensation coverage. My crew works exclusively for me and has provided all legal documentation.
