The secret to a successful painting project? Preparation!
Our painters take the time to do a thorough job of prepping your exterior walls before the first drop of paint is applied. We start with a thorough power washing of all exterior surfaces to be painted, including soffit and trim. Then we make sure all surfaces are clear, in good repair and ready to “accept” the paint we will apply. Only then will we begin the actual painting.
This extra attention to preparation is something most painting contractors breeze through or skip entirely. But we know the additional effort ensures a more complete, longer lasting finish that will retain its beauty for years and years.

You won’t find an IHC painting crew using cheap bargain paint. We apply only top quality paints and stains from reputable manufacturers like Sherwin Williams, Benjamin Moore and California Paints. The difference in cost is a small price to pay for a finish that is more durable and lasting.

Pressure Washing
• All homes are pressure washed 24 to 48 hours prior to paint crews’ arrival.
• Your house will be washed with a solution of bleach and TSP.
• The bleach will remove all mildew and mold. The TSP will clean the substrate.
• This solution will not harm plants, trees or shrubs.

Preparation
• We will scrap as necessary to remove chipping or peeling paint from surfaces.
• We will sand to remove rough surfaces.
• We will replace rotted areas on your home.
• We will prime bare areas.
• We will caulk all cracks and openings. IHC uses a 50-year silicone based caulk.

Application of Paint
• Once your home has been prepped and inspected by me, the application of paint will begin. At this time you will need to make a decision on colors.
• IHC uses Benjamin Moore or Sherwin Williams paint products. However we will use any paint requested by you!

Inspection
• Inspecting your home during the entire process is extremely important.
• Ill inspect you home prior to any paint being applied to the substrate.
• We’ll inspect your home upon completion.
The painting crew chief will be present during the last 2 phases.

Insurance
• IHC carries $300,000 of liability insurance. This will cover any damage to property that may occur during the job.
• I also have coverage in the amount of $100,000 worker compensation insurance. This covers you and I if anyone is injured during the job.
• You will be given a copy of my insurance with the estimate.

Painting Crews
• All paint crews work exclusively for IHC.
• All crew chiefs must have a minimal of 5 years painting experience and must remain on the job from start to finish.
• All crews must maintain their own insurance coverage. To get insurance, the crew chief must be background checked.

Warranty
• IHC provides a 5-year workmanship warranty.
• This warranty is for the home and may be transferred in case of sale.
• Benjamin Moore and Sherwin Williams warranties all its paint for a minimum of 20 years against cracking, peeling or chipping.

Payment
